What therapy with me looks like
No couch. No clipboard. Just an actual conversation.
I provide virtual therapy exclusively, which means you can show up from wherever you have privacy — your couch, your car, your office. The format is simple and convenient. The therapy itself is thoughtful, collaborative, and real.
You don't need to have done this before
A lot of people put off therapy because they're not sure how it works, or they're worried they'll do it wrong. There's no wrong way to start. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, prior therapy experience, or a perfectly organized explanation of what's going on. You don't even need the right words. Therapy isn't a test, and there isn't a right way to do it. I'll help guide the conversation.
What a session actually looks like
Sessions are approximately 53 minutes, held via secure video. We'll talk through what's been happening, explore patterns, and work on understanding your thoughts, emotions, and reactions. I'll ask questions, offer perspective, and sometimes make a direct observation that might be useful. Depending on what you need, we might also work on processing something difficult, problem-solving, or developing practical tools. It's a conversation, not a lecture — and it doesn't follow a rigid script.
How often we meet
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, especially early in therapy when we're building a foundation and getting to know each other. Some people later move to every other week depending on their needs and goals. Frequency is something we figure out together, and it can change over time.
What to expect over time
Therapy isn't linear. Some sessions will feel especially productive. Others might be about processing, sorting something out, or maintaining progress — and that's part of the work too. As things shift, therapy can shift with you. We'll regularly check in about whether what we're doing is still useful and adjust as needed.
Virtual therapy — what that means practically
HIPAA-compliant video platform
Sessions are conducted on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You'll receive a session link before your appointment.
You need: privacy and internet
A device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private place to talk. Your car, your bedroom, a quiet corner — wherever you can talk freely.
Available in MA and VT
I'm licensed in Massachusetts and Vermont. You need to be physically located in one of those states during sessions.
Scheduling
Appointments are offered during my current practice hours, based on available openings. I don't currently offer evening or weekend appointments. When you reach out, we can talk through my availability and figure out whether there's a time that works for both of us.
